To make hiking even more exciting, Le Corbier also offers Max’s Hikes: a collection of themed family trails, graded by difficulty using a star system. Children can earn their Young Hiker Diploma by completing each hike!

for hiking with children
Choose a route suited to your child’s age
The golden rule is to start with easy walks. For children under six, choose short circular routes with plenty of opportunities to stop, play and explore along the way.
Mountain weather can change quickly. Before setting off, always check the local forecast. Avoid starting too late in the day and always have an alternative plan if conditions deteriorate.
Stay hydrated and take regular breaks
Children tire more quickly when hiking. Bring plenty of water, snacks and plan enjoyable breaks to observe marmots, play in the forest or enjoy a picnic.
What should you pack?
For younger children, an ergonomic baby carrier for hiking is highly recommended.

Why not add a touch of originality to your family walks? In Le Corbier, hiking also comes in the form of fun, themed adventures designed for both children and adults.
The Max’s Hikes, for example, invite children to follow the footsteps of Max, the resort’s mascot, along routes adapted to their age. Equipped with an activity booklet available from the Tourist Office, young explorers can discover the mountains at their own pace thanks to several difficulty levels.
Another unique experience not to be missed is the Barefoot Trail, a short sensory walk to be completed without shoes. Feel the different natural surfaces beneath your feet—sand, wood, stones and tree bark—and reconnect with nature in a completely different way.
Space enthusiasts will also love the Space Trail, an educational walk filled with puzzles that transforms the mountain into a journey through the Milky Way while revealing the secrets of the universe and the story behind one of Le Corbier’s iconic residences.
