La Grande Odyssée VVF - Stage 4 : La Toussuire - Le Corbier

La Toussuire and Le Corbier are joining forces again this year to host the 4th stage of the 20th edition of La Grande Odyssée VVF, on Wednesday January 17, 2024, over a course of 22km and 1130m of positive ascent.

Description

The 20th edition of La Grande Odyssée VVF, the annual sled dog event in Europe. Meet over 60 mushers for an exceptional day! After revising the sporting format of the event in 2019, the event is continuing its transformation and accelerating its development with new ambitions in terms of promoting the territories, education and sustainable development. 3 departments to cross the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region: Savoie, Haute-Savoie and Isère. The race will start in Megève, in Haute-Savoie, then it will pass through 4 new stages including La Toussuire-Le Corbier, the 4th stage of La Grande Odyssée VVF, to finish in Isère.

PLACE OF DEPARTURE: La Toussuire - Rue Principale

1 pm - 6 pm: La Grande Odyssée VVF village in La Toussuire.
Entertainment: Super Fan" competition, meeting with Sitka the mascot, official boutique, various stands hosted by our partner VVF: biathlon, Wild Immersion virtual reality helmets, soft mobility (mountain bikes, snowshoes, snooc), discovery of local craftsmen, big competition to try and win a VVF stay, sweets tasting, etc.

1 pm - 6 pm: La Grande Odyssée VVF village in Le Corbier.
Great North activities (2 mushers and 12 sled dogs to pet, discovery, explanation of mushing equipment...).

5 p.m.: Draw for the "Super Fan" competition by Sitka, the official mascot.
5.15pm - 6pm: Departures
ARRIVAL PLACE: Le Corbier - Front de neige

6:50 pm - 8:10 pm: Finishes and prize-giving ceremony
