Cross-country ski trail: The Plan Chaud Loop starting from Le Corbier
An accessible loop between Le Corbier and La Toussuire, perfect for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or hiking. The route crosses the Plan Chaud plateau and the snow-covered landscapes of Garney, following the fun-filled Sentier Spatial trail.
Description
Starting at the Corbier Tourist Office, this 5.2-km loop takes you on a journey of discovery across the Plan Chaud plateau, between Le Corbier and La Toussuire. This easy route, suitable for children ages 4 and up, can be enjoyed on cross-country skis, snowshoes, or on foot. Poles are highly recommended.
From the Tourist Office, cross the snowfield toward the covered stairs located across from the Sybelles Express chairlift. Go down the stairs, cross the road, and take the trail that leads downhill.
At the next intersection, take the path on your left that climbs slightly. Continue to the wooden footbridge that crosses the Garney stream. At the next intersection, head up to your left to reach the Plan Chaud plateau.
Then turn left and head back up to the road, then continue to the Praz Rivier intersection. Cross the plateau in the opposite direction before taking the descending trail at its far end. Turn left to reach the Garney Bridge, cross it, then head back up toward Le Corbier to complete the loop.
Throughout your hike, be sure to enjoy the Sentier Spatial, a fun and immersive trail. Accompanied by Cosmix, the mascot of the Corbier Kids’ Club, set off to explore space through several themed stations set up along the trail.
